Coming Home Empty

Before you arrive at Shiva and Parvathy's abode, you are cleansed. Thoroughly. Not broken apart and put back together, but gently stripped of everything that no longer needs to be carried.

It makes sense when you think about it. How could anyone climb those steps while carrying the weight of ambitions, endless to-do lists, relationships, responsibilities and the countless identities we cling to? They tell you to pack light. Perhaps they are speaking of much more than luggage.

What I’ve come to understand is this: if Kailash is calling you, it is calling you empty-handed.

Sadhana may begin at the altar, but it has to continue through every aspect of life. This stripping is not something the sadhaka can accomplish through willpower alone. It is a careful, precise process carried out by the infinite intelligence of the Divine Mother.

Maa does not deprive her child. She simply removes what was never meant to be carried. Attachments loosened, illusions dissolved, every burden lifted is an act of compassion.

For Kailash, she wants us empty-handed. Ready to receive.

Perhaps that is all this phase is: the quiet tuning of our inner instrument, refining our capacity to receive what Kailash has been waiting to reveal.
