Immersion into the world of Charyapad Hundred years ago, Mahamahopadhyaaya Hara Prasad Shastri, eminent scholarof linguistics, archivist , was immersed in his quest to find roots of Bengali language. When he stumbled upon ancient poetic compositions of Charyageeti / Charyapad in the library of Nepali Royal family, he recognised the unique language of this poetry as proto-bengali. But what does Charyapad essentially comprise of ? These were quintessential spiritual reflections encrypted in the song form expressed in Twilight language ( Sandhya bhasha ). Mahasiddhas such as Luipa, Khanopa, Sarahapa and many more composed these profound literature After hundred years of this poetry coming to light, Maa Parvathy Baul stumbled upon them once again to recognise deep similarity with visuals, metaphors in this poetry as primer to poetic expression of Baul Mahajan.
